ACTIVITIES
Making A Difference
HIGH HEELS FOR HEALING
Based on the old saying, “You can’t really understand another person’s experience until you have walked in their shoes,” this lighthearted event increases awareness of women’s issues by featuring prominent local men strolling in women’s shoes. The funds raised from this event help to support our club's donations into our local and global community.
AWARDS AND SCHOLARSHIPS
At Soroptimist of Humboldt Bay, we are dedicated to supporting women and girls in our community through a combination of scholarships, awards, recognition, mentoring and encouragement. Our annual awards honor women that support other women, women who are returning to their education after a break, and to women who "Live their Dream", whatever that might be. PLEASE SEE OUR AWARDS AND SCHOLARSHIP PAGE FOR APPLICATIONS
CLUB GIVING
Our goal is to support non-profit groups that support women and girls in Humboldt County. Each year we set a goal to distribute $30,000 within Humboldt County.
Our application form may be downloaded from this site - you will find the link to the application at the bottom of the checklist. Your original application materials must be postmarked no later than May 1st to qualify for funding. Please read all information carefully and review the checklist to be sure your application is considered.
